1959 - Jay Van Andel and Rich DeVos found Amway in Grand Rapids, Mich.
1962 - The Nutrilite brand is introduced to Amway distributors.
1968 - Artistry Skin Care and Cosmetics brand is launched.
1971 - Amway expands overseas, starting with Australia.
1972 - Jay Van Andel and Rich DeVos purchase controlling interest in Nutrilite Products, Inc.
1974 - Amway expands to Asia.
1979 - The U.S. Federal Trade Commission declares the Amway sales and marketing plan a legitimate multilevel sales opportunity.
1980 - Annual sales pass the $1 billion mark.
1985 - Amway expands to Latin America.

2010 - The Amway Center opens in Orlando, Florida (USA), home to the National Basketball Association's (NBA) Orlando Magic, and a venue for special events and entertainment.
2011 - Global sales released by Amway parent company Alticor reach $10.9 billion.
2012 - Amway invests approximately $185 million in U.S. manufacturing expansion to meet global demand for NUTRILITE brand vitamin and dietary supplements.
2013 - Alticor / Amway is ranked as the world's #1 direct selling business in the Direct Selling News Global 100, based on 2012 global sales of $11.3 billion.
