Mexico, D.F., September 27, 2011.- Amway Mexico received the 2011 Corporate Citizenship Best Practices Responsabilidad Social Empresarial award that has been granted for ten years in a row by the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (CEMEFI, Centro Mexicano para la Filantropía).

Companies from Mexico and Latin America gathered on September 26 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, where 44 projects were honored with the award.

Amway Mexico was recognized for the Amway One by One Campaign for Children program “Nutrilite™ Little Bits™

Amway One by One recognizes that the #1 global problem that children face is malnutrition, being the main cause for morbidity and mortality of children under the age of five.

The Nutrilite™ Little Bits™ program seeks to  provide nutritional benefits to help change the lives of undernourished children between 1 to 5 years of age, and this is achieved in partnership with Un Kilo de Ayuda and the Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Médicas y Nutrición Salvador Zubirán  (Salvador Zubirán National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition).

“The goal of this program is to make a measurable difference in the nutritional health of Mexican children, improving their wellbeing and healthy development, specifically of children with iron deficiency”, said José Páez, General Director of Amway Mexico.

The award was received by Florentino Gutiérrez, Marketing Manager of the Mexican affiliate.
“Receiving this important award reinforces our commitment as a socially responsible company and encourages us to continue with this project and take it to other places to contribute to a healthy development of children in Mexico and around the world.”

For 10 years now, CEMEFI and the Alliance for Social Responsibility in Mexico (AliaRSE, Alianza para la Responsabilidad Social Empresarial), recognize the efforts of companies with Corporate Citizenship Best Practices in order to encourage other companies and institutions to adopt and develop similar practices that positively impact the society and contribute to its wellbeing.
